KARAMOJA INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT |I
The Goverment of Uganda (GoU), through the Ministry of Health (MoH) secured funds from the Italian Government, through the Italian Development Agency (AICS) towards the cost of the Karamoja Infrastructure Development Project Phase II (KIDP , whose aim is to address Health Infrastructure and Health System gaps in Karamoja Region.
The Ministry of Health intends to use part of the financing to recruit three Clerks of Works for the Project. The detailed job descriptions can be accessed on https://www.health.go.ug
Job Title: Clerks of Works (Civil Engineer)
Number of Positions: Three (3)
Report to: Project Engineer
Terms: Two (2) year renewable Contract
Job Purpose
The Clerk of Works will provide technical support to the Project Coordination Unit in supervision of construction works at the respective sites in the 9 districts of the Karamoja Region.
The Objective for the Clerk of Works job is to maintain full time presence on sites, and directly report to the Project Engineer on the daily progress of works. They will be resident in the Karamoja Region and shall be responsible for managing quality during construction, adherence to approved construction practices and reporting on the level of deployment of the contractors’ personnel and consultant’s site team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Ugandan National with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Building/ Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution;
- At least three (03) years of professional experience in CIVIL ENGINEERING
including project design and construction
management. - Computer skills are essential and competent with use of standard architectural software e.g. AutoCAD etc.
- High level of interpersonal and management skills, high integrity and proven ability to work with team at all levels.
- Works under minimum supervision and meets strict deadlines
Must have a valid driving permit - Strong interpersonal and team management skills
Qualified engineers from Karamoja and female engineers are encouraged to apply.
