MTN is an equal opportunity employer and is currently expanding and is seeking to recruit competent individuals to fill the following vacant Position of Chief Marketing Officer.

Chief Marketing Officer    

The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer 

Main Purpose of the Job:

The mission is to develop and execute the overall marketing strategy for the acquisition and retention of customers and the growth value of those customers. To maintain Market Share Leadership within the industry. To Implement the consumer business plan for the consumer division, ensuring revenue generation for new and existing services and products. To ensure financial viability and sustainability of the business with the revenue streams realized by the marketing function.

Prime responsibilities of the position:

  • Implement the Consumer business plan in line with global best practice guidelines set by management in order to ensure that the organization complies with the set standards.
  • Provide the necessary guidelines for the Consumer team and function in order to ensure that the marketing objectives are delivered in accordance with the set standards.
  • Develop and champion the MTN Uganda Brand Strategy to position it as the number 1 Brand in the market and preferred Brand by customers.
  • Develop the Customer Value Management (CVM) Strategy to ensure customer retention and development policies and processes across all customer segments.
  • Develop and Manage the Consumer segment loyalty Strategy across all MTN Uganda customer segments.
  • Develop customer lifeline value for MTN Uganda customers by driving usage and loyalty in line with the business objectives with the overall aim of reducing churn, increasing loyalty and tenure.
  • Develop Customer Value propositions and Strategies for consumer products and services.
  • Develop and drive MTN Uganda’s Digital Transformation Strategy to ensure growth for digital products and services.
  • Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities.
  • Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products.
  • Provide analysis of customer research, business intelligence on current market conditions and competitor information.
  • Develop and implement consumer plans and projects for new and existing products.
  • Manage the productivity of the consumer plans and projects.
  • Ensure proper alignment of commercial objectives in response to specific local market realities.
  • Ensure Monitor, review and report on all consumer activity and results.
  • Manage and monitor the efficient spend of the marketing division budget and deliver consumer activity within agreed budget.
  • Liaise with media and advertising agencies to promote the MTN Uganda brand.

Required Academic qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related discipline.
  • MBA or Master’s in Marketing Degree.
  • Professional Marketing qualification/certification.

Experience:

  • 10-15year’s experience in a broad range of Telecommunications and commercial environments.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Senior Management position.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, emerging technologies, and disruptive business models in the telecom industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and lead teams toward successful outcomes.
  • Project management expertise with a focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
  • Self-driven and ability to motivate a fast-paced team.
  • Pan Africa multi-cultural experience is advantageous.
