Position Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Reports to: Secretary General
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Overview:
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its secretariat.
The CEO will oversee;
- the day-to-day operations,
- develop strategic initiatives,
- Raising Funds through grants and proposal,
- engage with stakeholders,
- Pursue funding opportunities such as grants for the Association,
- and advocate for the broadcasting industry in Uganda through policy and legal proposals through the secretariate.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in executive roles within a secretariat, a strong background in governance, business, law, accounting, media,or any other relevant discipline and a proven track record in leadership and management.
While Reporting to the Secretary General, the CEO shall;
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the NAB secretariat.
- Supervise and manage all secretariat staff.
- Develop and implement operational policies, strategic plans, and annual operating plans for NAB through the Secretariate
- Ensure the secretariat operates within approved budgets and plans.
2. Governance and Compliance:
- Maintain a regular legal and policy review for the industry and develop policy advisories and proposals from time to time
- Ensure the Association operates within established policies and governance structures.
- Keep abreast of issues impacting the Association and advise the Executive Committee accordingly.
Prepare and maintain official documents of the Association.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
- Coordinate Industry activities between all Stakeholder Associations for Media Owners, Journalists and the Regions
- Act as the primary liaison between NAB members, the government, and the Uganda Communications Commission.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders, including other associations, companies, and community organizations.
- Advocate for comprehensive laws, regulations, and guidelines that advance the broadcasting industry.
4. Financial Management:
- Develop Revenue generating proposals for NAB
- Prepare and manage the operations account.
- Account for all funds received and managed by the secretariat.
- Solicit financial, material, technical, or other assistance to support the Association’s objectives.
- Draft and apply for grants to achieve NAB objective and develop proposals for the same
5. Communication and Information Management:
- Act as secretary for all Executive Committee meetings and maintain all records.
- Record and organize minutes of all meetings and ensure actions are duly noted.
Maintain and monitor a calendar of all important dates and events.
6. Member Services and Support:
- Serve the needs of NAB members, including ensuring compliance with the Uganda Communications Commission by supporting on necessary documentation
- Develop standards for professionalism and compliance among members.
- Conduct training and capacity-building activities for members.
- Conduct research and provide information on the Ugandan media industry.
Deliverables:
Grants and Proposals for Funding : Annual operating plans and budgets.
- Quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Regular policy updates and strategic plan reviews.
- Comprehensive member training and support programs.
- Advocacy and policy proposals to advance the broadcasting industry.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Relevant qualifications in governance, media, mass communications, strategy, business, lawyer/Advocate, Accountant, or other relevant courses
Experience:
- Significant experience in an executive role or CEO position or service in a secretariat.(At least 5 years’ Experience is an added advantage)
- Experience in the media industry at an executive level is an added advantage.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.

- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
- Strong advocacy and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
