CENTRE NURSE

Equip Africa Institute (EAI) is a premier middle-level institution accredited, licensed, and registered as a Technical and Vocational training college in accordance with the TVET Act 2013 and in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education. The Institute is an affiliate of Mount Kenya University and has Seven (7) Centres; Thika, Nairobi, Kitale, Kisii, Nakuru, Mombasa and Malindi offering quality competence-based training at Diploma, Certificate and Artisan Levels in various disciplines. The Institute also has Driving school and Executive Training & Consultancy arms.

Qualification

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • 3 years’ experience at Grade 8 within EAI or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
  • Must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing Council

OR

  • Higher Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing Council
  • 5 years’ experience as a Nurse Assistant within EAI or at a similar position in a recognized institution

Reporting to: Centre Manager

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s /client’s outcomes.
  • Providing appropriate health care services
  • Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs
  • Referring patients / clients appropriately
  • Maintain records on patients’/clients health condition and care
  • Ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
  • Keeping records of drugs, supplies and other commodities.
  • Collecting, compiling and analyzing data for decision making for service delivery, planning and policy making.
  • Implementation of community strategy with other health service providers.
  • Carry out administrative duties as may be assigned to you from time to time
