Job Overview
As a Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations, administrative duties, staff management, and clinical oversight of the medical centers. Your leadership will ensure that patient care meets the highest standards, while optimizing resources to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Duties
- Ensure that the medical center operates within the stipulated hours and provides uninterrupted healthcare services.
- Oversee staff management including attendance, leave, performance appraisals, and adherence to company policies.
- Implement strategies to exceed patient expectations, ensuring that services align with company standards and comply with relevant laws and medical practices.
- Monitor the inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and stationery to ensure the medical center is well-stocked and prepared for daily operations.
- Undertake cost optimization measures by reducing the usage of consumables, monitoring fixed and variable costs, and managing overheads.
Staff Management
- Lead and manage a team of medical professionals, ensuring that all staff adhere to duty schedules and company policies.
- Address issues related to absenteeism, staff discipline, and performance in accordance with company procedures.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings to discuss performance, patient care standards, and any necessary improvements.
Clinical Duties
- Oversee the clinical management of patients, ensuring accurate diagnosis, treatment, and documentation in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Lead emergency preparedness efforts and conduct emergency drills to ensure the team is ready to handle any medical emergencies.
- Collect, compile, and submit clinical reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct mortality audits in collaboration with other medical staff and provide reports to the appropriate supervisors.
- Develop, implement, and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain safe, high-quality healthcare for all patients.
Requirements
- Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or its equivalent.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy hospital or medical center.
Certification: Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya and possess a valid Practice License.
Certifications: BLS/ACLS certification is required where applicable.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry and clinical management practices.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to manage both administrative and clinical functions.
