Centre Manager-Eastleigh, Thika, Nanyuki, Nyeri, Busia and Mtwapa
The position holder is responsible of overseeing smooth, effective and efficient operation of medical centres.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
- Ensure the Medical centre operates and provides healthcare services within stipulated operating hours at all times.
- Staff Management: attendance to duty, absenteeism, leave, performance, staff discipline and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the service rendered far exceeds the patients’ expectations and meets the standards set by company in its operating manual, complies with medical practices and set laws.
- Ensure the Medical centre has sufficient supply of required equipment, stationery and drugs.
- Ensure all the required licenses are obtained, remain current and displayed within the Medical centre premises
- Monitor the performance of the Medical Centre in terms of revenue & profitability against targets and take corrective steps as required.
- Undertake cost optimization initiatives such as reducing the usage of consumables, monitoring fixed costs, variable costs, overheads etc.
Clinical Duties:
- Patient clinical management at Medical Centre; diagnosis and treatment of patients, Proper documentation of EMR (Electronic Medical records) and provide education to the patient and relatives/caregivers.
- Manage medical emergencies by ensuring emergency medical preparedness as the emergency team leader and ensure emergency drills are performed.
- Collecting, compiling and submission of accurate clinical reports and any other required documentation.
- Monitor adherence to the standardized hazardous and other waste disposal technique including all IPC measures.
- Actively participate in projects of quality healthcare such as CME’s, health talks, rational prescription audits, mortality audits, medical camps.
- Conduct mortality audits for all deaths occurring in the facility together with other staff working in the unit and share the reports with the supervisor.
- Lead the department in development, implementation and review of Standard Operating Procedures for the assigned department aimed at providing safe and quality healthcare to patients.
Requirements
- At least a Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Clinical medicine and Surgery or its equivalent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy Hospital.
- Registered by the respective professional body e.g. Clinical Officers Council of Kenya
- Valid Practice License
- BLS/ACLS Certification where its applicable
- Wide knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Strong business acumen
- Proven leadership, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
