Position: Business Development Manager – Institutions

providing fund management and investment advisory products and services to retail and institutional clients. JAML is
licensed as a Fund Manager and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and the Retirement Benefits Authority
(RBA).
We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Business Development Manager – Institutions within Jubilee
Asset Management Limited. The role holder will report to the Head of Business Development – HNWI &
Institutions and will be based at our Head Office in Nairobi.
Role Purpose:
The Business Development Manager – Institutions is responsible for driving the growth and development of institutional
client relationships within Jubilee Asset Management Limited. This role involves identifying new business opportunities,
building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, and developing tailored solutions to meet their
investment needs. The role holder will collaborate closely with the business development team to support the overall
growth strategy of the firm.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Institutional Client Acquisition and Management
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities with institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance
companies, foundations, saccos, and corporate entities.
o Develop and implement effective strategies to acquire, retain, and expand relationships with institutional
clients.
o Ability to generate 250 Mn in sales per month through the identified pipeline.
o Conduct thorough needs assessments and provide tailored investment solutions to meet the specific
requirements of institutional clients.
2. Relationship Building and Maintenance
o Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within
institutional clients.
o Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update clients on market trends, investment performance,
and portfolio strategies.
o Ensure exceptional client service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and
professional manner
3. Strategic Planning and Execution
o Collaborate with the Head of Business Development – HNWI & Institutions to develop and execute the
business development strategy for institutional clients.
o Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and threats.
o Prepare and deliver strategic presentations, proposals, and reports to senior management and clients.
4. Product Development and Customization
o Work closely with the investment team to develop and customize investment products and solutions that
meet the unique needs of institutional clients.
o Provide feedback and insights from clients to inform the development of new products and enhancements
to existing offerings.
o Ensure that all product offerings are compliant with relevant regulations and industry standards.
5. Collaboration and Teamwork
o Collaborate with other members of the business development team to share insights, best practices, and
market intelligence.
o Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to support the overall growth and success of the firm.

1. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to asset
management activities.
2. Establish and maintain effective internal control systems and risk management frameworks.
3. Keep abreast of regulatory changes and communicate their impact on the company.
4. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.

Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
2. Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Institute of Securities &
Investments (CISI) qualification would be an added advantage.
3. Proven experience (at least 5-7 years) in asset management, with a strong understanding of investment strategies,

successful marketing campaigns.
