Job Summary:
We’re seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth, partnerships, and brand development for our sports blog in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, marketing, and sports industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth.
2. Identify and secure new business partnerships, sponsorships and advertising deals.
3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sports teams, leagues, and brands.
4. Collaborate with the editorial team to develop content that appeals to our target audience and attracts potential partners.
5. Develop and manage the budget for business development initiatives.
6. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform business development strategies.
7. Represent the company at sports events, conferences, and networking meetings.
Requirements:
1. 3+ years of experience in business development, marketing or a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of the sports industry in Nigeria and globally.
3. Proven track record of securing new business partnerships and driving revenue growth.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience working in digital media, sports marketing, or a related field.
2. Strong network of contacts in the sports industry.
3. Certification in business development, marketing, or a related field.
