Brand Activations Associate

Job location: Kampala, Uganda

About the role:

As a Brand Activations Associate, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our business through strategic marketing initiatives. You will work in partnership with diverse teams of partners to develop and execute integral marketing strategies, focusing on joint partner marketing plans, product management, brand communication, visibility and awareness. Additionally, you will steer efforts in integral events, conferences, sponsorships, sales team aid, PR, media communication for partnerships and key agency and supplier management.

What you would be expected to do:

Drive brand visibility:

  • Develop and execute marketing plans to deliver on business goals, including production of merchandise and other collateral to drive cost efficiencies.
  • Generate strong consumer insights to drive strategies, communication tools and collateral.
  • Steer product commercialization activities for products to include: 1. Demand & convention planning duties. 2. Coordination of promotional material. 3. Creation or updates of marketing materials. 4. Sales field assistance. 5. Generate strong consumer insights that will drive communication. 6. Brand communication.

Sales assistance:

  • Generate brand awareness and increase talkability of Sun King.
  • Create and execute OOH branding strategy benefitting all sales channels for the business.
  • Leverage on multiple marketing strategies – ATL, BTL & TTL to assist our sales channels in focus markets.
  • Steer and spearhead all internal events and conferences.
  • Execute sponsorship initiatives leveraging Sun King brand in focus markets.
  • Coordinate with the EBD team on execution of events and conferences outside focus markets.
  • Create marketing materials to aid EBD team in effective selling i.e. product videos, sales kits and manuals, marketing POS, marketing merchandise etc.
  • Create innovative uniforms and swag for sales teams.

Agency and supplier management:

  • Create innovative local media solutions to derive cost efficiencies.
  • Any other duties allocated to assist the department & overall business goals.

You might be a strong candidate if you have/are:

  • A degree in a business-related field.
  • 4+ years’ hands-on marketing experience in brand activations, or agency experience.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who is willing to take initiative, ownership & accountability.
  • Good planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • A highly results and performance-oriented person with the ability to solve problems and make critical choices.
  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally across several geographies, regions and teams.
  • Possess the ability to develop strong internal and external partnerships and form strategic alliances.
  • Good negotiation/influencing and presentation skills.
  • Able to conduct market research & study data and insights to inform strategy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good team player with strong interactive skills and creativity.
  • Able to travel on average 70%+ of the time.
