Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Branch Manager to oversee the operations of our specific Nairobi branch. Reporting directly to the Business Development Manager, the Branch Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the branch’s success, profitability, and adherence to company standards. This role emphasizes office administration, team leadership, customer onboarding, customer retention, collection management, data/record management, and compliance management. The ideal candidate should have a forward-thinking mindset, considering digital tools and market innovation as crucial enablers for achieving key performance metrics, including maintaining target collection rates, disbursement targets, customer count, and customer retention rates.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Branch Profitability:

Manage all aspects of branch operations to ensure efficient and profitable functioning.

Develop and execute strategies to achieve and maintain branch profitability.

2.Team Leadership:

Lead and supervise branch staff, including loan officers, customer service representatives, and administrative personnel.

Set clear performance expectations and KPIs for branch employees.

Provide coaching, training, and support to the team to meet disbursement and profitability goals.

3.Customer Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers in the branch’s target market.

Gather customer feedback and address any issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction.

Implement retention strategies to achieve and maintain the target customer retention rate.

4.Loan Disbursement:

Work closely with the Immediate manager to meet monthly disbursement targets.

Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements during the disbursement process.

Monitor loan portfolio quality and take proactive measures to minimize delinquency.

5.Collection Rate:

Collaborate with the credit operations team to ensure achievement of set targets.

Implement effective collections strategies, including reminders, follow-ups, and negotiations with delinquent clients.

Analyze data to identify trends and reasons for delinquency and implement corrective actions.

6.Digital Transformation and Data Management:

Leverage IT knowledge to enhance branch operations, streamline processes, and improve customer service through digital channels.

Oversee digital customer onboarding and data management to ensure accurate and secure information handling.

Use digital tools and platforms to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.

7.Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure branch compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.

Implement necessary changes to remain compliant with evolving regulations.

8.Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare regular reports on branch performance, including disbursements, collections, and profitability.

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.

Collaborate with the supervising Manager to present findings and recommendations.

9.Branch Operations, Cost and Bill Management:

Ensure smooth operation of the branch and manage all recurrent and new costs.

Manage local supplier relationships and meet payment obligations within stipulated timelines to avoid penalties.

Oversee petty cash, ensuring responsible and cost-effective utilization of funds with proper documentation.

Ensure all the relevant site management taking care of all the company assets in terms of security ,hygiene and sanitation are taken care of.

10.Business Development, Sales, and Partner Liaison:

Establish new markets and identify business opportunities.

Close deals and onboard new partners.

Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing partners.

Onboard and maintain customers to drive growth and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, Agribusiness, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the fintech, microfinance, or banking sector.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent business development skills with the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Knowledge of IT systems and digital platforms in financial services.
  • Experience in agribusiness and a deep understanding of the financial needs of agricultural clients.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability in partnership negotiations and closing deals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Added Advantage:

Candidates with expertise in Working capital, Bodaboda loans, understanding of digitization and innovative loan delivery and collection strategies, will have an added advantage.
