MHA is seeking highly motivated and experienced professionals to join its Board of Advisors and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality research, M&E and learning services for sustainable social impact in Africa.

MHA is a pioneering social enterprise and research organization dedicated to bridging data gaps and promoting evidence-based decision-making across key development sectors, including public health, education, agriculture, WASH, and climate resilience. With our headquarters in Kampala, Uganda – we operate Africa wide to drive sustainable impact. MHA champions innovative MEARL practices that inspire, inform, and transform.

About the Role

As a member of the Board of Advisors, you will:

Provide strategic oversight and expert advice on MHA’s programs and initiatives.
Support the development of innovative MEARL solutions tailored to Africa’s unique challenges.
Offer guidance on partnerships, resource mobilization, and organizational growth.
Ensure accountability, transparency, and alignment with MHA’s mission and vision.

Available Positions on the Board

We are recruiting for the following positions:

Chairperson of the Board
Vice Chairperson
Treasurer
Secretary
Specialized Advisors in the following areas;
Board Advisor Public Health
Board Advisor Education
Board Advisor Agriculture
Board Advisor Gender
Board Advisor Climate Change and Disaster Response
Board Advisor Digital Innovation and Technology (including Artificial Intelligence)
Board Advisor Renewable Energy

Eligibility Criteria

We are seeking candidates who:

Hold Postgraduate Degree or higher
Have expertise in one or more of the above-listed sectors.
Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in governance, strategy development, or advisory roles and relevant fields.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to MHA’s vision, mission, and core values.
Possess exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Show a deep respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion, embracing individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, and cultures.

Commitment

Tenure: 5 years, renewable once based on performance.
Time: Approximately 6-8 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings.
Board Members shall not directly or indirectly receive any compensation for the position other than a cost allowance for direct expenses incurred in the course of their duty to the organization.
