The key purpose of this role is to repair and maintain the computer controlled systems on the packaging line, support the line operations and assist in the electrical team during problem-solving.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
- Locate plant, equipment, spares, and relevant documentation / systems
- Plan and prepare the job
- Carry out repairs / maintenance
- Continuously improve (optimize) plant, process equipment and systems
- Operate plant and process equipment
- Calibrate instruments
- Perform basic changes to software in PLC’s with necessary approvals
- Supports the scoping of projects and upgrades to plant and process
- Communicate effectively in teams
- Contribute to self and team development
- Utilize loss & waste and short interval control to identify problems
- Apply problem solving techniques to resolve situational problems
- Apply 5S standards and practices in the workplace
- Operate and control the process according to SOP’s
- Participate in and coach autonomous operations
- Support quality at source
- Improve personal competence and flexibility
Minimum requirements:
- BSc Electrical Engineering/Diploma in Electrical Engineering,
- 2-3 years relevant experience in Manufacturing systems Control and Automation environment
- 1-2 years as an Electrical Artisan in similar industry
- Solid understanding of programming and soft ware
- Flexible and ability to work in teams
