Associate Green Content Curator

Green Stories Uganda (GSU) is a pioneering green media organization in Uganda, focused on creating and curating impactful sustainability content to inspire and sustain a mindset of environmental stewardship. With a mission to exclusively disseminate solution-oriented green information and mobilize collective action on key sustainability issues, GSU operates a digital multimedia eco-brand engaged in green content creation, aggregation, amplification, and syndication.

Role Overview:

Green Stories Uganda is seeking a talented and passionate Associate Green Content Curatorto join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for curating and creating engaging, informative, and educational green content for our flagship newsletter, blog, and social media platforms. Additionally, you will support the marketing and promotion of our green initiatives through strategic social media management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Green Content Curation and Creation – 70%

– Research, identify, and curate relevant, solution-oriented green stories and content from various sources

– Develop original and compelling green content, including story pitches, articles and multimedia assets

– Ensure content aligns with GSU’s mission, brand, and editorial guidelines

– Maintain a content calendar and contribute to the planning of GSU’s editorial strategy

2. Social Media Management and Stakeholder Engagement – 30%

– Create and schedule engaging social media posts to promote GSU’s content and initiatives.

– Assist in building partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including businesses, NGOs, and policymakers etc.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

– Bachelor’s or Diploma in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field

– Minimum 2 years of experience in content curation, creation, and social media management

– Demonstrated knowledge and passion for sustainability, environmental issues, and climate change

– Excellent writing, research, and storytelling skills

– Proficiency in using social media platforms and digital content creation tools

– Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team

– Familiarity with handling sources, interviews, reporting and data management.
