Purpose of the Job
To support the Project Manager in the planning, execution of the Upcycling project. They perform administrative tasks, manage budgets, and communicate with clients and stakeholders. |

The Assistant Manager will support to Project Manager to oversee activities of subordinate staff in Imvepi and Rhino Camp under the Upcycling Project |
Project Planning
• Prepare periodic work plans together with Project officer in line with the agreed schedules in the project documents. • Liaise with Project officer in planning and implementation Upcycling project activities Project Implementation • Participate mobilization, sensitization and training of project beneficiaries on basic appropriate methodologies as outlined in the project document. • Work with local authorities, community leader, relevant civil society and non-governmental organization, collaborating/implementing partners and other stakeholders in order to achieve the objectives and facilitate project implementation. • Manage the CCB groups formed after trainings by ensuring quality of activities provided to beneficiaries (meeting farmer groups and sharing of ideas). • Ensure that the Project’s objectives/outputs are achieved according to the work plans as stipulated in the project document. • Carry out regular monitoring visits to CCB groups and ensure that reports are written on each visit and shared with the project Manager. • Contribute to organizational learning through systematic documentation, monitoring, evaluation and sharing of information with project manager and the relevant project team. Staff supervision • Lead the field-based team ensuring clarity over work plans and priorities, providing supervision, guidance and mentoring, encouraging effective team work and building a team spirit through regular meetings and events and clear reporting mechanisms for each team member. Project Monitoring and Reporting • Promote active participation of other staff, beneficiaries and intermediaries in the planning, implementation and evaluation of project activities as required. • Conduct regular visits to the project sites to ensure that activities are in line with the project document. • Oversee the implementation of activities by the group to monitor project output/outcome and ensure an appropriate solution to the problem arising. • Ensure that proper mapping of project site is done & information shared on time to the project team Documentation of project data and information • Update beneficiaries support data base to enable tracking of the progress in line with the project document. • Work closely with the Business trainer to capture and update progress of CCB groups that have received funds • Collect and document interest/success stories showing the output/outcome of the project on the beneficiaries. • Develop and maintain close and good working relationships with the community leaders and local authorities. • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Supervisor. |
Educational Qualifications and Experience Required;
· Degree in Business Administration, Development studies, Entrepreneurial studies or in
related field
· 3 years’ work experience as a Project Officer within the NGO sector
· Work experience in West Nile will be an added advantage
· Self-motivated and willing to handle extended work schedules
· Experience in working with projects in rural settings
