ASSISTANT MANAGER OPERATIONS & FULFILLMENT

Overall Role Purpose:

The Assistant Manager Operations and Fulfillment Center will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our warehouse operations from receiving, order tracking, processing, inventory storage to fulfillment (including picking, packing & delivering).

You will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain, improving operational efficiency, inventory management as well as quality and safety controls.

ASSISTANT TERMINAL MANAGER

Overall Role Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide sound leadership for specific Terminal business unit Operations. You will be required to provide both strategic and tactical leadership for all aspects related to the Terminal’s key performance indicators (KPI’s), strategic planning relating to the customer forecasts, and budgets in tandem to the staffing and budgeting process. The holder is also accountable for achieving company objectives in regard to safety, quality, cost control, and customer service and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and implement strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  • Optimize warehouse space utilization and implement efficient picking and packing processes.
  • Follow up on the maintenance and repair of warehouse & warehouse equipment (forklifts, conveyors, etc.).
  • Ensure a safe and secure working environment for all employees, including implementing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, meeting order deadlines and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with transportation carriers to select the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods.
  • Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues that may arise.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints related to order fulfillment and delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing warehouse team (both full-time and part-time staff).
  • Develop and manage the warehouse budget, controlling costs associated with warehouse operations.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
  • Implement and utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technologies to improve operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., Commercial, Customer Service, Finance) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, suppliers, and transportation carriers (3PL if applicable).
  • Support efforts to attain permits (e.g., distribution permit) and certifications (e.g., ISO 9002 and COPC) for quality in installation, production, and customer experience.
  • Report weekly on multiple warehouse and fulfillment center performance KPIs.
  • Provide data-backed and actionable updates to senior management to improve overall operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with 3 being in a supervisory role (managing & developing staff) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), inventory management systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Good grasp of geographical and industrial knowledge.
  • Business-level communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proven track record of analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Prior experience and familiarity with warehouse and fulfillment center operations.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

  • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to implement safety protocols.
