Assistant Manager – Finance
Overall Responsibility
The successful candidate will assist the Finance Manager – General Accounts in overseeing the payables and general accounting sub-departments. This includes providing both technical and supervisory support to the team while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions and the general ledger in accordance with IFRS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various units and departments to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial statements.
- Review, post, and reconcile subsidiary accounts and the General Ledger to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist in both internal and external audits, ensuring all financial and operational audits are efficiently managed.
- Assist in payroll processing, including related reconciliations and journal entries.
- Organize, coordinate, and facilitate stock counts, as well as ensure accurate stock and control account reconciliations.
- Supervise the Fixed Assets Verification process for all the hospital locations
- Manage cash and bank reconciliations, including supervising petty cash review and cash control accounts.
- Assist in the periodic Monthly Closing and Reporting.
- Assist in Monitoring & Managing the Cash flows.
- Post CAPEX invoices, calculate and run monthly depreciation, and manage fixed asset register (FAR) reconciliations.
- Actively contribute to hospital-wide quality and customer care initiatives in line with institutional policies and guidelines.
- Ensure the delivery of cost-effective services without compromising quality.
- Consistently maintain high standards of operational service delivery.
- Promote and uphold excellence in customer service.
The requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA Finalist
- Proficient in bookkeeping and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of operating tax laws, IAS, and IFRS standards
- Excellent analytical abilities with a strong aptitude for working with numbers
- Audit experience is a plus
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- 5 years of progressive experience in general accounting
