Assistant Executive Housekeeper

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the executive Housekeeper in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, laundry and back-of-house areas meet the hotel’s cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, laundry and public areas to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Ensure all housekeeping tasks are completed within the hotel’s time frames and in compliance with brand standards.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising housekeeping staff.
    Schedule staff shifts, assign duties, and monitor their performance to ensure optimal productivity.
    Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss performance, guest feedback, and areas of improvement.
  • Handle staff conflicts, discipline, and performance evaluations.
    Respond to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services in a timely and efficient manner.
    Ensure all housekeeping services enhance guest experience and satisfaction.
    Collaborate with the front office team to ensure smooth room turnover and availability for guest check-ins.
    Manage and monitor housekeeping supplies and equipment inventory.
    Place orders for cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities as needed while ensuring cost control.
    Ensure proper maintenance of housekeeping equipment to avoid breakdowns and disruptions.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and environmental policies.
    Implement safety procedures for the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
    Maintain proper documentation for regulatory audits and inspections.
    Implement housekeeping policies and procedures, ensuring consistency in cleaning methods and standards.
  • Maintain records of room inspections, guest feedback, and corrective actions taken to improve service quality.
    Participate in monthly or quarterly performance reviews with the executive housekeeper.
    Assist in preparing and managing the housekeeping department’s budget.
    Monitor expenses related to labor, cleaning supplies, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    Supervise the hotel’s laundry operations, ensuring efficient processes for washing, drying, and folding linens.
    Ensure timely delivery of laundered items to guest rooms and public areas.
  • Work closely with the front office, maintenance, and food & beverage departments to address guest needs and resolve operational issues.
  • Assist in organizing special housekeeping requirements for events, functions, or VIP stays.
  • Promote eco-friendly housekeeping practices, including the efficient use of water, energy, and cleaning supplies.
  • Implement and maintain the hotel’s green initiatives, such as linen reuse programs and waste reduction.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree/Diploma in hospitality, Housekeeping and Accommodation.
  • Proven experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in a 4-star or luxury hotel.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping standards, health and safety regulations, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve operational issues efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
  • Computer literacy.
