ASSISTANT COST CONTROLLER

Tamarind Tree Hotel is seeking a vibrant, energetic and experienced professional, who will play a crucial role in cost management in Tamarind Tree Hotel. They will be tasked with the responsibility of enhancing cost management initiatives and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor hotel costs by tracking and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly financial transactions.
  • Identify trends and variances from budgeted costs.
  • Oversee inventory management in all stores and assist in ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
  • Provide daily variance analysis for the kitchen and the bar
  • Collaborate with Heads of Departments to understand and control costs within their respective areas.
  • Assist in preparing forecasts and budgets related to costs and expenses.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal hotel audits and stock takes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost control and financial management

Qualification

  • Degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance option)/CPA K or any other related field preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Materials Control, Symphony and Sun Systems.
  • Knowledge of cost control principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
