Job Title: Area Coordinator

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months
Start date: 2025-02-01

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director – Operations, you will be responsible for the overall coordination, leadership and management of ACF programs and operations in Borno State, Nigeria, including coordination for Damasak Field Office.

More precisely, your missions will be to:

  • Effectively manage and develop ACF Programming and Strategy in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria
  • Ensure Safety and Security of ACF personnel and assets
  • Manage and support to local implementing partner(s)
  • Ensure reporting, capitalization and contribute to quality and accountability
  • You will manage 4 Support Team directly (the HR, Finance, Logistics Managers, Liaison Manager, Program and Project Managers), including Operations Team and  98 people indirectly.
  • Ensure overall accountability for ACF Finance, Human Resources, and Logistics in the Maiduguri Base and Damasak Field Office
  • Represent in the field ACF and adherence to Mandate and Charter/Principles

Requested profile

  • You hold a Degree in Social Science, International Relations, International Development, Humanitarian Response or relevant field, with significant experience (7 – 10 years) with INGOs, in insecure setting in the same type of position.
  • You are able to organize, train and motivate a multicultural team. You are disciplined and able to work independently.
  • You have excellent diplomatic, negotiation, drafting and written skills. You are also able to adapt and communicate effectively.
  • A previous experience with ACF in emergency and post-emergencies setting is an asset.
  • You master English, both spoken and written.
