We are dedicated to empowering farmers in Kieni through sustainable Sunflower and castor farming initiatives. Our goal is to enhance agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of local farmers by providing them with the necessary support and resources. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Field Officer to join our team.

Job Description:
The Field Officer will play a crucial role in mobilizing, registering, and supporting farmers in Kieni to adopt Sunflower and castor farming. The ideal candidate will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of our Sunflower and castor farming projects.

Key Responsibilities:
– Farmer Mobilization: Engage with local communities to raise awareness about the benefits of Sunflower and castor farming.
– Registration: Assist farmers in registering for the sunflower and castor farming program using both digital and manual methods.
– Training and Support: Provide training on best farming practices, including soil preparation, planting, pest management, and harvesting.
– Monitoring and Evaluation: Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of farmers, provide technical assistance, and collect data.
– Market Linkage: Facilitate connections between farmers and buyers, ensuring a stable market for castor seeds.
– Report Writing: Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities, farmer progress, and project outcomes.
– Collaboration: Work with government agencies, NGOs, and other partners to coordinate efforts and leverage resources.

Qualifications:
– Education: Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
– Experience: At least 3 months of experience in agricultural extension, fieldwork, or a similar role.
– Skills:
– Strong knowledge of Sunflower and castor farming practices.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in using mobile applications for data collection.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Familiarity with the local community and culture of Kieni.
– Reside of Kieni
