Accounts Payable Assistant in our office in Nairobi, Kenya.

The role is responsible for day-to-day tasks in the Global Accounts payable team. The candidate must be excited to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Posting of invoices in SAP system and supplier balances reconciliations.
  • Payable and receivable schedules preparation and posting adjustments to SAP system.
  • Posting of entries to SAP system.
  • Payment processing.
  • Bank and vendor reconciliation.
  • Updating accruals and prepayment schedules.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Assets Register and Movement schedules.
  • Support both internal and external audits.
  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions.
  • Filing and documentation-ensuring all financial records are kept appropriately.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting packages (preferably SAP) and Microsoft office solutions.
  • Well-developed commercial orientation and planning skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Swahili and English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of accounting and financial management issues
  • Team player with the ability to cooperate with multiple parties.
  • Has capacity to adapt to the changing market environment and work well under pressure.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years of professional experience in Financial Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • At least CPA (2) /ACCA qualification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
