Accounts Assistant
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records through daily bookkeeping and data entry.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts on time.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and expense analyses.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and update the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Assist with tax filings, statutory payments (NSSF, NHIF, Housing Levy, PAYE), and ensuring compliance.
- Handle queries related to financial transactions and liaise with suppliers and clients as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must have scored B plain and above in their KCSE
- At least 2 years of work experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant professional qualifications like CPA and ACCA will be an added advantage.
