Job Description:

As an Accountant Intern at Contrarian Capital, you will play a vital role in maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Tax Preparation and Compliance: Accurately prepare and submit individual tax returns in accordance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and analyse financial data to create comprehensive financial statements and tax filings for the company.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare detailed profit and loss statements and balance sheets for management review.
  • Payroll Oversight: Ensure precise and timely processing of payroll, ensuring accurate employee payments.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous financial records using advanced accounting software.
  • Bookkeeping: Manage all bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in the development and refinement of accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degreein accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of B+ in Mathematics in KCSE and an overall KCSE grade of at least B+.
  • Strong skills in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
