We are looking for a qualified, experienced, and talented accountant with experience in the renewable energy sector
JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT
REPORTS TO: FINANCE DIRECTOR
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business administration or Financial Management with accounting option, or any other related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum level (1) of Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, and CIMA) is a MUST.
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in Accounting and Finance from a reputable institution in the Public, Private or NGO sector
Should have knowledge of:
- Computerized accounting systems.
- Understanding of Accounting Principles i.e. IAS/IFRS
- Company taxation in Uganda
- Local and International Bidding
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Verify the authenticity of all payments and ensure accuracy before payment.
- Manage Debtors and creditors accounts in line with the company’s
finance policy and guidelines
Reconcile supplier accounts and prepare payment schedules - Prepare company accounts, tax and statutory returns and any other financial reports required by Finance Director
- Carry out bank reconciliations and prepare statements on bank accounts in line with UPHL financial accounting procedures
- Timely journalize inventory adjustments for purchase returns, expiries, damages, donations and internally consumed stock items
- Bid preparation and submission
- Any other duties assigned by the Finance Director and or Management
