Job Summary:
The Youth Agribusiness Hub Accountant will be responsible for managing financial operations, including overseeing the Youth Agri-Investment Fund. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The accountant will play a crucial role in financial reporting, analysis, and providing financial guidance to support sustainable growth and effective utilization of funds for the Youth Agribusiness Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations of the Youth Agribusiness Hub, including budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
- Administer the Youth Agri-Investment Fund, ensuring proper allocation, tracking disbursements, and maintaining comprehensive records of fund utilization.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for the Youth Agribusiness Hub.
- Develop and monitor budgets for projects and operations within the Youth Agribusiness Hub.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records, transaction documentation, and a reliable filing system, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial transactions.
- Support capacity building initiatives by providing financial training and guidance to beneficiaries of the Youth Agribusiness Hub, enhancing financial literacy and
- management skills.
Qualifications
a. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA and ACCA are an added advantage
b. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles, preferably in a non-profit organization, agribusiness sector, or related industry.
c. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, and contribute to a positive work culture.
d. Proficiency in local languages spoken in Nwoya District is advantageous.
e. Past Experience working with SACCOs is an added advantage.
f. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
