
Job Title: Accountant
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Location: Nairobi
Gross Salary: KES. 65,000-70,000 depending on experience and qualification
Job Purpose Sandstorm Africa Limited, a well-established manufacturing company, seeks to hire a keen and experienced accountant who is primarily responsible for providing support to the finance and accounting team by managing daily accounting tasks.
Key roles and responsibilities:
· To accurately register, code and process invoices for payment ensuring that all invoices are approved in accordance with the company delegation of authority limits.
· Follow-up and resolve invoice queries externally and internally.
· Ensure monthly reconciliation of vendor accounts.
· Financial and profitability analysis of the Company’s Projects
· Generate aging and other vendor reports as required.
· Ensure accurate recordings and treatment of Withholding Tax & VAT
· Provide ad-hoc support to the financial accounting team
· Petty cash management
· Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts data
· Reconcile general ledger accounts with monthly statements
· Assist with stock takes, Stock Variance Reports and inventory checks
· File statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, SHA, AHL, NITA) and ensure timely payments
· Financial Reports preparation for audit and provision of supporting documents
Required Qualifications;
· Bachelors of Commerce Degree and CPA (K)
· A minimum of four (4) years’ work experience
· Demonstrable knowledge and experience in accounts in billing and account receivable.
· Knowledge & experience in preparing final company accounts and statutory filing will be an advantage.
· Hands on experience on MS Excel
· Exceptional attention to detail
