Account Manager

CoAmana is on a mission to modernize and digitize market trading. Our flagship product, Amana Market, is a digital platform where:

  • Farmers, suppliers, and wholesalers can trade with one another.
  • Market Leaders can track members’ subscriptions and collect market fees.
  • Users can track their activity history and keep seamless records with low effort.
  • Traders can access credit for large purchases.
  • Users can access information such as weather reports and commodity pricing.
  • Market actors can work with Amana Market for an additional income stream.

We have set ambitious targets for 2025 and are looking for talented, self-starting individuals to join the team.

Responsibilities

By the end of 2025, Amana Market will be in 100 markets, each of which will add at least 50 new members to the platform each month. We are looking for Account Managers to manage these relationships and to ensure market retention, transaction growth, and uptake of new products and services. Account Managers play a critical role in CoAmana – you engage regularly with your market partners to ensure that they are motivated, engaged, and active on the platform. You will be supported by a network of Agents in your markets, whom you will mentor, manage, and motivate to meet and exceed their targets.

Account Managers at CoAmana:

  • Travel regularly to markets in their portfolio to maintain relationships and identify any issues
  • Manage the performance of Agents, motivating them to meet targets, removing obstacles to their success, and replacing or supplementing underperforming agents
  • Conduct onboarding for market leaders, recruitment and set-up of Agents
  • Build and maintain relationships with Market Leaders and influential market members
  • Organize and run awareness-raising events in markets to drive user growth
  • Ensure retention on the platform across the board – recurring market subscriptions, recurring transactions, etc.
  • Recommend new products and services to Market Leaders
  • Know the platform inside out and use this knowledge to train users and pitch additional services
  • Gather insights from the field and share with head office to drive improvements to products and services
  • Maintain immaculate records to enable tracking of the sales pipeline
  • Represent CoAmana to the highest standard when engaging with external actors

In return for driving Amana Market’s expansion, you will receive a competitive base salary and attractive monthly commissions.

Qualifications

  • At least one post-secondary qualification (OND, HND, undergraduate role)
  • At least 2 years experience in sales, relationship management, or customer service; experience in the technology and/or agricultural sector is a plus
  • A passion for winning – you love meeting and exceeding targets
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – you don’t just pitch to potential customers; you listen to their problems, build trust, and tailor your presentation to their needs
  • People management skills – Agents are the key to your success and you must be willing to manage them closely and assess their performance accurately and objectively
  • Integrity – you are honest and hardworking and do the right thing even when no one is watching
  • High energy – you travel whenever it is required to succeed in the role and set the pace for the rest of the team
  • IT skills – intermediate level Microsoft Office or Google Suite and familiarity with CRM tools
  • Fluency in English & Swahili
