As our operations grow, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Executive to help establish a solid financial foundation for our future success.
Role Objective
The Accounts Executive will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust financial and accounting system to support the company’s growth. This includes developing a financial framework, selecting appropriate software, ensuring compliance with financial policies, handling multi-currency transactions, and preparing year-end financial reports, including tax filings.
Key Responsibilities
• Business Analysis:
• Assess current financial operations and challenges.
• Collaborate with the CEO to develop a rapid action plan for immediate cash flow needs and forecasts.
• Identify critical financial management requirements for the company’s growth.
• System and Software Implementation:
• Evaluate and recommend financial software, focusing on multi-currency capabilities and integration with banking and travel industry platforms.
• Install the chosen software and populate it with current financial year data (from July).
• Train CEO and key staff on using the new system.
• Day-to-Day Financial Management:
• Oversee daily and monthly financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general accounting.
• Lead the month-end and quarter-end closing process, including general ledger reconciliation and trial balance reviews.
• Manage cash concentration, cash flow forecasting, and currency risk.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and vendor payments to ensure efficiency and fraud prevention.
• Reporting and Budgeting:
• Develop real-time financial reporting dashboards for the CEO and management.
• Create regular financial reports, including budget forecasts, performance analysis, and financial dashboards.
• Oversee the company’s budget planning process.
• Policy Development:
• Develop a comprehensive financial policies and procedures manual, focusing on fraud prevention and financial controls.
• Train staff on the new policies and procedures.
• Year-End Accounting:
• Manage the year-end closing of accounts and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance and facilitate timely tax filing.
• Transition to Finance Director:
• Prepare a transition guide and handover materials for the incoming Finance Director.
• Ensure a smooth handover, including training and knowledge transfer to the new hire.
Key Deliverables
• Full financial system and software implementation, with data from the current fiscal year.
• A comprehensive financial framework and chart of accounts.
• Detailed financial reporting tools, including real-time dashboards.
• Complete Financial Policies and Procedures manual.
• Year-end accounting and tax filing completed.
• Transition guide for the incoming Finance Director.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification preferred).
• Proven experience in a consultancy role, ideally setting up finance departments or systems in growing organizations.
• Experience in multi-currency transactions and international finance operations.
• Familiarity with financial management software available in the local market.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with experience creating financial dashboards and visualizations.
