The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is currently seeking to recruit motivated and qualified professionals to fill several vacant positions.
KNEC plays a critical role in the administration of national examinations in Kenya and is committed to maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and quality in the assessment and certification of students across the country.
This recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening the council’s capacity in various departments to continue delivering on its mandate.
Available Positions
Driver
The Driver position at KNEC is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of staff and materials. The role includes vehicle maintenance, adherence to traffic rules, and ensuring that all necessary travel documents are up-to-date. The driver is also responsible for maintaining a clean and well-serviced vehicle and reporting any mechanical issues to the administration for prompt action.
Assistant Office Administrator
The Assistant Office Administrator supports the smooth operation of the office by managing administrative tasks such as filing, document preparation, managing appointments, and handling office communication. This role is vital in ensuring that the daily operations of KNEC run efficiently and that the office remains organized and functional.
Examinations Assistant
The Examinations Assistant plays a key role in supporting the administration of national exams. Their duties include coordinating the distribution of exam materials, assisting in exam logistics, ensuring the security of examination papers, and providing administrative support during the examination process.
Examinations Administrator
An Examinations Administrator is responsible for overseeing the entire examination process. This includes planning, coordination, and ensuring that all examinations are conducted in accordance with KNEC regulations. The role requires close collaboration with other departments to ensure that the exam process runs smoothly from preparation to result dissemination.
Research and Quality Assurance Officer
The Research and Quality Assurance Officer is tasked with conducting research to improve examination practices and ensure that KNEC maintains high standards in exam administration. They are also responsible for implementing quality control measures, ensuring compliance with best practices, and conducting audits to identify areas for improvement.
Supply Chain Management Assistant
This position involves managing the procurement and distribution of goods and services required by KNEC. The Supply Chain Management Assistant ensures that all procurement processes are compliant with government regulations, and that resources are efficiently utilized. Duties include stock management, supplier coordination, and maintaining accurate records of purchases and inventory.
Human Resource Management Assistant
The Human Resource Management Assistant supports the HR department by handling various administrative tasks related to employee records, payroll, recruitment, and staff welfare. The role includes assisting in the implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure that KNEC’s workforce is managed effectively.
Principal Examinations Officer
The Principal Examinations Officer is a senior position responsible for the overall management of examination processes, including planning, execution, and monitoring. They ensure that national examinations are conducted with integrity, security, and fairness. This role also involves managing a team of staff and collaborating with educational institutions and government bodies to ensure the successful administration of exams.
Principal Human Resource Management Officer
The Principal Human Resource Management Officer oversees the HR functions at KNEC, including strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, and staff development. They are responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with KNEC’s objectives and ensuring that the HR department operates efficiently.
Assistant Director, Planning and Strategy
The Assistant Director of Planning and Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that guide KNEC’s long-term objectives. This role involves analyzing trends, formulating policies, and collaborating with other departments to ensure that KNEC’s strategic goals are met.
Assistant Director, TD Schools Assessment – Languages
This role focuses on the assessment of language subjects in schools. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing language assessment frameworks, coordinating the setting and marking of language examinations, and ensuring the consistency and fairness of assessments in language subjects across the country.
Assistant Director, TD Schools Assessment – Mathematics and Science
Similar to the role in languages, the Assistant Director for Mathematics and Science oversees the development and implementation of assessment strategies for these subjects. This role requires expertise in educational assessment and close collaboration with teachers and examiners to maintain high standards in mathematics and science assessments.
Deputy Director, Planning and Strategy
The Deputy Director of Planning and Strategy supports the Director in the development and implementation of KNEC’s strategic plans. This includes policy formulation, performance monitoring, and ensuring that all departments are aligned with KNEC’s long-term objectives.
Deputy Director, Internal Audit
The Deputy Director of Internal Audit is responsible for overseeing the audit function within KNEC. This role ensures that all internal controls are effective, financial practices comply with regulations, and that there is transparency in the council’s financial and operational procedures. This position also involves identifying risks and recommending corrective measures to improve governance and accountability.
