Advocacy and Networking Officer

poverty and violence.

Position Overview
The Advocacy and Networking Officer will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission by
developing and executing advocacy strategies, facilitating partnerships, and representing Paradigm for Social
Justice and Development in various forums. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with
community stakeholders, policymakers, and other organizations to promote our key advocacy areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advocacy Strategy:
a) Overseeing the design and implementation of the advocacy strategy and to ensure that aims and
objectives of the programme are implemented according to agreed plans.
b) Monitor relevant developments in policy and legislation, providing insightful recommendations for
organizational positioning.
2. Networking and Partnerships:
a) Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies,
NGOs, community organizations, and grassroots movements.
b) Collaborate with partner organizations to amplify advocacy efforts and create synergies on common
goals.

3. Research and Analysis:
a) Conduct research to inform policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy campaigns.
b) Analyze the impact of existing policies on women’s rights and health, particularly concerning
adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights.
4. Capacity Building:
a) Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and community forums to raise awareness and
enhance understanding of adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights issues.
b) Provide technical assistance and resources to local partners to strengthen advocacy efforts.
5. Communication and Reporting:
a) Prepare and disseminate advocacy materials, including reports, newsletters, and media content.
b) Represent Paradigm for Social Justice and Development at meetings, conferences, and public
forums, effectively communicating our mission and objectives.
c) Prepare monthly action plans.
6. Qualifications
a) Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, law or a related field. A
Master’s degree is an advantage.
b) Experience:
i. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in advocacy, public policy, or social justice,
particularly in the fields of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and gender equality.
ii. Demonstrated experience in networking and building partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
c) Skills:
i. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
ii. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
iii. Proficiency in research and analysis, with the ability to translate complex information into
actionable advocacy strategies.
iv. Familiarity with digital advocacy and social media platforms.
d) Personal Attributes:
i. Passion for women’s rights, social justice, and gender equality.
ii. Strong commitment to ethical conduct and the mission of Paradigm for Social Justice and
Development.
iii. Ability to engage and inspire others through storytelling and effective communication.
