VACANCY FOR A BAKER

Rivertrees Country Inn is looking for a professional Baker to join our dynamic team. We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Baker. As a Baker you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Kitchen team and learn valuable skills, and contribute to the creation of exceptional guest experience.

The Baker shall be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked items, ensuring they meet our established standards for quality and consistency. The primary responsibility of a baker is mixing ingredients, baking breads, cakes, pies, cookies, and other pastries. You will also be in charge of decorating and displaying products, ensuring quality and freshness, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

· Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods according to established recipes and production schedules.

· Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring consistency in quality and taste.

· Monitor oven temperatures and baking times, making adjustments as needed.

· Ensure all baked goods meet the highest standards of quality, taste, texture, and appearance.

· Conduct regular taste tests and visual inspections to maintain product consistency.

  • Manage ingredient inventory levels, ensuring freshness and quality.
  • Order and restock supplies as needed, minimizing waste and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all health and safety guidelines.
  • Clean and sanitize baking equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly.

· Adhere to food safety regulations and company policies at all times.

· Develop and test new recipes, contributing to the creation of innovative and seasonal baked goods.

· Stay up-to-date with baking trends and incorporate new techniques into daily work.

· Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of baked goods.

· Assist with training and mentoring junior bakers or assistants as needed.

· Interact with guests in a courteous, polite and helpful manner.

· Display a high level of guest concern and customer care at all times.

· Attain knowledge of services and amenities offered by the Lodge and surrounding community.

Qualifications and Experience Required

· A Diploma or certificate in Pastry

· Proven experience as a baker or in a similar role

· At least 3-4 years of experience

· Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality products.

· In- depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.

· Complete knowledge of Fire Procedures.
