Caritas Microfinance Bank is the fastest growing Micro Finance Bank in Kenya whose vision

seeking competent and qualified staff to fill the following position:
1. FINANCE OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE
To support the Head of Finance and strategy in financial reporting, reconciliation and to
ensure financial effectiveness of the bank operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Filing and submission of CBK financial reports as required
· Remittances of tax and other statutory deductions such as withholding tax, stamp
· duty, and Excise duty
· Raising and verification of journal vouchers
· Validate financial entries by auditing accrued expenses, supplier payment vouchers,
· fixed asset register entries and branches accounting entries
· Responsible for fixed asset depreciation and disposal
· To receive reconciliations from departments and branches for allocated ledger
· accounts and follow up for closure of the issues therein.
· Prepare status report on reconciling issues for review and update
· Support daily monitoring of bank balances and review bank reconciliation as per the
bank’s policies and procedures
· Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
· Prepare branch and departments reconciliation statements
· Secure financial information by maintaining data base backups
· Bank loan management through validation, settlement of interest and principal
repayment
· Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing
account information.
· Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
· To perform any other duty as assigned in line with the organization goals and objective
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Education -University degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Business
Management/Administration or related business degree (Must)
• Certified Chartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant (Must)
• Current member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) with a
valid membership Certificate (Must)
• 3 years working experience in busy accounting/finance function in a financial
institution (Must)
• Advanced Excel spreadsheet and data analytical skills
• High level of integrity and dependability
• Has a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to multitask.
• A fast learner
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good marketing and People management skills
• Must be self-driven; possess excellent administrative, communication and
interpersonal skills, strong organization, and negotiation skills.
