Hardware Engineer Attachment

Synnefa🌱 is an innovative ag-tech startup dedicated to transforming agriculture through smart, climate-resilient solutions. We provide end-to-end solutions that integrate smart greenhouses, FarmShield IoT sensors, and FarmCloud record-keeping software to enhance farming efficiency, sustainability, and profitability. Our mission is to empower smallholder and mid-size farmers with technology that simplifies farming and increases income.

Our groundbreaking technology suite combines Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to give birth to Smart Greenhouses fitted with our patented FarmShield IoT device. Our solutions have been proven to increase crop yields by up to 30%, reduce input costs by 40%, and conserve water usage by over 50%—all powered by clean, solar energy.

But what really sets us apart is our people and culture. At Synnefa, we’re looking for individuals who are not just excellent at what they do but are also driven by a sense of purpose. We’re in search of hardware engineers who are autonomous, have an insatiable self-drive, thrive in a team environment, and embrace diversity as a core value. Our collective aim? To make over 1,000,000 farmers climate-resilient and to scale Africa’s largest Agtech company.

Recently, The Efficiency for Access Research and Development Fund awarded us funding to double down on our FarmShield sensors and increase their usage in solar dryers. This will enhance post-harvest resilience and productivity in dairy, fish, and horticulture value chains across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

If you’re looking to contribute to a cause bigger than yourself and work with a team that’s as passionate about innovation as it is about empowering communities, then Synnefa is the place for you.
