Data Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The role holder is responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to provide insights and support decision-making processes within the agency.

This role involves managing incentives, analyzing agency performance, preparing persistency reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive data analysis strategy.
  2. Design incentive programs to motivate and reward agency performance.
  3. Analyze persistency data to identify trends and recommend strategies for improving retention rates.
  4. Establish performance benchmarks for agencies and individuals to measure and compare performance
  5. Ensure data analysis activities comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
  6. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis to drive business growth and efficiency.

Operational

  1. Gather, clean, and prepare data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness for analysis.
  2. Prepare detailed persistency reports to track policy retention and identify areas for improvement.
  3. Conduct detailed analyses of agency performance, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  4. Create and distribute performance reports for individual agents, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for development.
  5. Perform trend analysis to identify emerging patterns and insights that can inform strategic decision-making.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS FOR THE JOB JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., master’s in data science, Business Analytics, or Statistics) is a plus.

Functional Skills

  1. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Excel, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  2. Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques and methodologies.
  3. Experience in developing and implementing predictive models to forecast trends and outcomes.
  4. Ability to create clear and compelling data visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
  5. Knowledge of data governance practices and data quality assurance processes.
  6. Understanding of the life insurance industry and key performance metrics.
