Client Relationship Manager, Retail Business

PURPOSE

The incumbent shall be responsible for enhancing stakeholder relationship and promoting customer retention to support the business through business strategies that will foster improved service standards that overall support the achievement of business goals in respect to top line, profitability, market share, client recruitment among others. The role requires hands on experience in all aspects of retirement benefits schemes administration and the pertinent regulations within the Retirement Benefits Industry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively cultivate meaningful relationships by engaging with trustees and MANCO members in a professional and hospitable manner, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed on a timely basis.
  • Develop and execute a calendar of engagement activities beyond Board of Trustees and MANCO meetings, fostering continuous interaction and rapport with trustees and MANCO members.
  • Strategize and execute a calendar of engagement activities for service providers and regulators, fostering collaborative partnerships
  • Adhere to customer service charter, member communication policy, and (TFC) Treat Customer Fairly policy to ensure their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement client retention strategies to foster long-term relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty through proactive engagement and personalized service.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce and promote complementary products or services to existing clients, enhancing their overall value proposition and satisfaction. (Cross selling)
  • Networking to generate referrals to create new business opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for promptly responding to correspondence from various regulators, relating to the portfolio under management, maintaining transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that schemes have up-to-date service level agreements with all service providers, facilitating clear expectations and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the review and oversee the implementation of good governance policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Preparation of trustee resolutions on discretionary benefits and any other areas
  • Inform clients on emerging trends and change of regulations and implications to their retirement benefits fund.
  • Regularly update the CRM portal with scheme documents and any changes in the scheme or Board of Trustees, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for compliance purposes.
  • Review administrative and management account reports and administration reports from the operations team before submission to the client for ownership to ensure accuracy, providing clients with reliable and actionable insights.
  • Circulate and deliver presentation of the performance investment management survey during quarterly BOT and MANCO meetings.
  • Engage in organizing, planning, coordination and execution of internal trainings, workshops and conferences as shall be called upon by the organization
  • Develop a risk register for portfolio under management and prepare a risk mitigating strategy and share with the relevant stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or any business-related field
  2. Professional qualification or progress towards completion e.g ACIl, CIFA, CFA, CPM
  3. An MBA will be an added advantage
  4. Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Retirement Benefits Industry in a busy environment
  5. In depth appreciation of RBA, IRA and CMA regulations
  6. Excellent presentation and organizational skills
  7. Self-starter
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  9. Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit
  10. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior company executives
