Maintenance Controller

The key purpose of this role is to co-ordinate, train, coach and control the activities in E&F section, both in the production environment and maintenance, to provide specialist technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability through the use of VPO means, without compromising safety.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment:

  • Development and periodic review of risk assessments (HIRA, PHA, JHA)
  • Complying to safety requirement on operation of equipment (SOPs, SWI signed off)
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

Ensures a reliable plant is achieved through the Maintenance, calibration, repair of equipment and optimisation of plant and associated devices:

  • Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
  • Plan and prepare the job
  • Development of Maintence Programs for new equipment, review of maintenance programs for the existing equipment
  • Carry out repairs / maintenance
  • Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
  • Operate plant and process equipment
  • Calibrate instruments

  • All work is carried out using the VPO principles (All VPO pillars implemented)

  • Sustains what has been implemented

Digital World:

  • Use all available digital tools (Acadia, Eureka, Interaction Log routines, DeepHow etc.)
  • Enforce the use of digital tools by Process artisans
  • Review PowerBI reports on digital tools evolution

Other:

  • Any other activities (Job related) as they arise

Minimum Requirements:

  • Trade tested Millwright or Mechanical N6
  • 3 – 5 years production engineering training in a FMCG environment
  • 2 – 3 Years mechanical/electrical experience with in-depth workshop knowledge. Planning experience is also required
  • Diploma in Engineering(Mechanical/Millwright) or equivalent and trade 3 to 5 years production Engineering experience with 3 years in supervisory level Knowledge of Brewing and Packaging plant will be an advantage. The candidate also needs to be proficient in Microsoft office applications
