Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
About the Job
- We are seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer that will oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for a wide range of projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, bridges, and infrastructure developments.
- This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and analysis of buildings, foundations, and civil structures
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Conduct structural inspections, site visits, and oversee construction activities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and proposal development
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver quality solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering design and project management
- Deep knowledge of local and international building codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, BS)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is an advantage
- Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit)
