Job Title: Industrial Chemist (Cosmetics & Manufacturing)

Location: Nigeria (Remote Working)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a results-oriented Industrial Chemist with experience in cosmetics formulation and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in industrial chemistry and a solid background in product development, quality control, and production optimization. This role will be instrumental in supporting the company’s transition from research and development to full-scale product manufacturing, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the formulation of cosmetic products in compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
  • Monitor industry trends and adjust processes accordingly to maintain compliance.
  • Provide technical consultancy and training to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, procurement, and production teams to scale operations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new materials, equipment, and technologies to improve outputs.
  • Optimize production processes to ensure high efficiency and product consistency.
  • Conduct research to improve formulations for enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design and implement robust quality control systems to maintain product integrity.
  • Ensure all formulations and manufacturing processes adhere to environmental and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial chemistry, cosmetics manufacturing, or product development.
  • Previous experience in consulting or advisory role is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of cosmetic ingredient regulations and safety data reporting is essential.

Core Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in cosmetic product formulation and testing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management and digital documentation tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process design and quality systems.
  • Analytical problem-solver with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
