Summary
- The Security Operations Coordinator (SOC) (Nigeria) has a direct-line report to the Country Corporate Security Manager and the Regional Security Manager and supports Halliburton (Nigeria) country operations.
- The Security Operations Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the country security management plan inclusive of asset protection of company facilities in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
- The Security Operations Coordinator deputizes for the Country Security Manager and is responsible for all company static and mobile security operations using third party security vendors and government security forces.
- Working closely with Halliburton’s internal and external stakeholders to coordinate day to day security operations in Nigeria, the SOC (Nigeria) is an integral part of the Halliburton-Nigeria security operation.
Job Duties
- Reports to the Country/ Regional Security Manager on all security related issues
- Implement company (Halliburton) security policies and procedures.
- Monitors the security services of contracted security vendors and personnel to ensure appropriate service delivery across all Halliburton Nigeria facilities.
- Financial accountability for security personnel and agency contractors.
- Quality control and maintenance of approved standards via regular audits of contracted security service providers.
- Proactive in identifying areas for continuous improvement to the country security management plan.
- Draft and implementation of Security Emergency Response Plans
- Key department stakeholder within the country crisis management team (CMT), providing sound security guidance and solutions to complex challenges.
- Implements the Halliburton Nigeria security risk management plan (SRMP) inclusive of mobile and static security, and physical and technical security measures under guidance of the company country and regional security manager.
- Investigates and provides reports on all security incidents that involve breach of security procedures, injuries, thefts, etc. and is responsible for communicating as applicable such incidents to senior leadership.
- Ensures minimal disruption to company business in a kinetic security environment through the application of company corporate security strategy.
- Implement security policy and procedures as per the country’s security standard operating procedures.
- Observation of security atmospherics and trend analysis within the country in order to facilitate company operations.
- Security responsibility for Halliburton employees whilst engaged on company business in Nigeria.
- Maintain a daily Persons on Board (POB) listing for expatriate Halliburton staff in Nigeria.
- Support country and regional HSE directives and compliance.
- Implement and manage company security policies and procedures in line with current contracts.
- Maintain and develop inter departmental relationships.
- Deputize for the country security manager when required and function as Halliburton’s security operations lead for Nigeria.
- Proactive security intelligence monitoring of security events in Nigeria in order to summarize and brief Halliburton’s internal stakeholders.
- Threat Assessments of new client (work locations) and preparation of reports for the country senior operations management team and regional security manager based on the assessment.
- Population of site-specific security plans (SSSP) as and when required.
- Liaison and communication with government security forces involved in the protection and transportation of critical assets with adherence to country regulations.
- Facilitation of VIP movements when required adhering to a detailed concept of operations.
- Prepared to state policy where necessary to support modes of operation in order to safeguard Halliburton’s assets and reputation.
- Cascade operational security relevant information to Halliburton personnel and contractors.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and experience:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a security operations coordinator / manager or similar role in Nigeria.
- Strong IT skills, particularly MS office including the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience of managing multi-faceted operations in a complex security environment
- Ability to perform complex tasks under pressure.
- High standard of English – Verbal and Written
- Relevant military or police training and/ or a demonstratable commercial security background with an emphasis on operational planning and communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- ASIS CPP (or recognized alternative such as ISMI CSMP -Certified Security Management Professional)
- Member of recognized Security Industry body (ASIS) or comparable local equivalent (AISSON, NIIS)
- (It is a Company expectation that the Security operations Coordinator will gain accredited suitable industry qualifications if not currently held at the time of application).
Working Conditions:
- Live and operate from Port Harcourt.
- Occasional travel to company head office in Lagos
- Expected to work from the company main base in Port Harcourt (Office/ field based – non hybrid role)
- Working routine – Five days on two off ( On call routine at weekends and public holidays dependent on operational tempo)
- Conduct field visits on an ad hoc basis as and when required to company/ customer remote work sites.
