Job Title: STEM Technician

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • The successful candidate will be fully focused on supporting the Head of STEM to ensure the best possible learning environments for our students.
  • Duties will be varied and should focus on the STEM learning areas.

Responsibilities

  • Support Head of STEM to plan and prepare teaching and learning in line with the school’s curriculum expectation and policies.
  • Provide for the student’s well-being ensuring all aspects of their safety in accordance with the school’s health and safety policy, the safeguarding policy, and the wider policies and protocols.
  • Work with class teachers to support early identification of needs and support and deliver individual educational plans.
  • Understand and work within the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Support Head of STEM to assess, track, and offer feedback on students’ achievement.
  • Liaise and assist line manager and colleagues with the efficient and effective running of the school.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Qualification in IT proficiency and knowledge (Microsoft, Python, Scratch, JavaScript minimum).
  • Proven experience in teaching coding, design thinking and making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have an awareness of current trends and emerging technologies in education.
  • Be committed to international-mindedness, equity, and sustainability.
  • Proficiency in coding, robotics and hands-on ‘making’.
  • Proven experience with dynamic, proactive organisation and coordination.
