Job Description:
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Africa Uncensored, you will play a critical role in tracking and assessing the impact of our investigative journalism projects. Your expertise will help ensure our work remains effective, impactful, and aligned with our mission to uncover and report on the most compelling stories across the continent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks for investigative journalism projects
- Collect, analyze, and report data to assess project outcomes and impact
- Design and conduct evaluations, surveys, and other data collection activities
- Provide timely and accurate monitoring and evaluation reports to management
- Collaborate with project teams to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous learning
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout all stages of the project life cycle
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in monitoring and evaluation within the journalism sector
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the media or non-profit sectors
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Excellent communication and report writing abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation software and tools
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to transparency and accountability
