
HalisiGro is a social enterprise committed to supporting smallholder farmers in rural Kenya to improve their lives by transitioning them to Regenerative Agriculture. We achieve this by providing them with training/knowledge, affordable organic inputs and market access needed to make this transition.
Your role as Field Agent
As a field agent, you will be the key point of contact with farmers on a day-to-day basis and you will provide training and implementation support to farmers. We are looking for individuals who are inquisitive, open to learning, and passionate about improving smallholder farmers’ livelihoods. You will report to the Chief Operations Officer.

Key Responsibilities: Farmer Recruitment, Training and Engagement
a. Identifying and recruiting Small Holder Farmers, Farmer Groups and Lead Farmers.
b. Onboarding, scheduling and training farmer groups and farm leads.
c. Conducting regular visits to farmers and farm leads to monitor progress and adoption of RegenAg practices.
d. Conducting demo farm activities to showcase best practices.
e. Helping farmers access organic inputs, biofertilizers, improved seeds and other key inputs.
f. Monitor and report on progress of anchor crops / key value chains of interest.
g. Supporting the aggregation of produce in readiness for offtake.
h. Managing company hubs and support logistics related to training, inputs and aggregated produce.
i. Administration and record keeping as guided by company SOPs.
Other duties:
a. Maintaining positive relations with the local county government and government officials.
b. Engaging local organisations and activating partnerships that will support and grow the activities of the company.
c. Being the company ambassador among farmers, farmer groups, village elders and local community members ensuring positive associations with the company.
d. Advising the company’s management and leadership on community needs, requirements and necessary changes to products and services provided.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related fields from a recognised institution.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in training farmers, field extension, regenerative agriculture, or rural development.
- Strong knowledge of soil health, organic farming, agroecology, and climate-smart techniques.
- Ability to train, mentor, and communicate with smallholder farmers, farmer groups and farm leads.
- Good technical knowledge of various agricultural inputs and their use.
- Willing to work in remote areas with frequent travel and little to no supervision.
- Good ‘on-the-spot’ problem solving skills.
- Dynamic, team member and able to adapt to new strategies as needed.
- Strong report writing, data collection, and basic ICT skills.
Skills:
- Experience working with farmer cooperatives or NGOs.
- Familiarity with USSD, ERP software, GIS mapping, mobile data collection apps preferred but not a must.
- Ability to speak native Akamba language is an added advantage.
- Possession of a motorcycle license is an added advantage.
