Company Description
Black Tulip Flowers-Kenya is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Controller – Packhouse to oversee and ensure the quality of flowers during processing, grading, and packaging. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and experience in quality assurance in the floriculture sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the quality control processes in the packhouse to ensure compliance with company and export market standards.
- Supervise a team of quality controllers to ensure consistent adherence to grading, bunching, and packaging guidelines.
- Conduct regular quality checks and audits to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor staff on quality assurance best practices.
- Maintain proper records of quality reports and recommend improvements.
- Work closely with production, logistics, and compliance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in the packhouse.
- Participation in Certifications such as KFC, Fairtrade, MPS amongst others.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Post-Harvest Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in quality control within a flower farm packhouse.
- Strong knowledge of flower grading, post-harvest handling, and export standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
