Job Title: Supply Capability / Technical Training Manager

Purpose of Role
- The Capability Manager, Supply role is a tactical role that translates the Guinness Nigeria Learning & Development vision into actionable plans for Supply technical execution.
- The role holder also designs long-term strategies for enhancing technical capabilities while aligning training initiatives with operational excellence and sustainability goals.
- S/he oversees the operations of technical workshops, including scheduling, resource management, and trainer coordination while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards in all training sessions.
- S/he optimizes training Infrastructure, overseeing the effective use and development of technical training workshops and resources while ensuring training programs reinforce compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- S/he uses analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously refine them for maximum business impact.
- Drives Technical Excellence by enhancing the skills and competencies of supply chain operators, technicians, and team leaders to achieve operational efficiency and excellence.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and Implement Supply Training Frameworks: Create structured programs tailored to the unique needs of machine operators, technicians, and supply chain leaders.
- Manage the GN Academy (Supply Faculty): Lead the Academy, ensuring it delivers high-quality training through workshops, e-learning platforms, and on-the-job training and coaching.
- Conduct Capability Assessments: Annually assess skills and competencies across the Supply function to identify gaps and prioritize training interventions.
- Support Performance Management: Provide data and insights from training assessments to inform promotion, retraining, or skills development decisions.
- Promote Safety and Compliance: Develop training programs that reinforce adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Report on Training Effectiveness: Use KPIs to measure the impact of training programs and present findings to leadership.
- Audit behavioural change from delivered training programs: Carry out regular physical audits to confirm that training programs deliver the right behavioural/attitudinal change in operators/technicians which is evident on the shopfloor
- Collaborate with sub-functional Leaders: Work with site managers, asset care heads, and other Supply stakeholders to align training initiatives with operational priorities.
- Oversee Workshop Operations: Ensure that the Mechanical/Utilities and Electrical/Automation workshops are well-maintained, equipped, and utilized effectively.
- Deliver Technical Training Programs: Facilitate or oversee the delivery of technical training sessions, ensuring relevance and quality.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Applied Sciences Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of mechanical/utilities, electrical/automation, Brewing, Logistics within supply chain operations.
- At least 8-10 years in any Supply Chain roles with additional responsibility of managing training/capability development for a department. Experience in running a part of similar Supply Chain Academy is a significant advantage
- Digital Learning Tools: Familiarity with LMS platforms, e-learning tools, and technologies like VR or AI-driven training solutions.
- Analytical Skills: Expertise in using data and metrics to evaluate training effectiveness and make informed decisions.
- Safety and Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety protocols, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance in supply chain operations.
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from operators to senior leadership.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering technical training programs, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain settings. Being a certified coach and a certified facilitator are significant advantages.
- Hands-on experience with supply chain processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple training initiatives, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
