Junior Communications Officer

Job Description:

Show up Communications is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Junior Communications Officer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting our senior communications professionals with a variety of tasks across different client accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with media relations activities, including researching media contacts, pitching stories, and monitoring media coverage.
  • Develop and write engaging content for various communication channels, such as press releases, social media posts, and website copy
  • Assist with event planning and execution, including logistics, outreach, and content creation
  • Conduct research and compile reports on industry trends, competitors, and target audiences
  • Provide administrative support to the communications team, such as managing calendars, preparing presentations, organizing files, setting up meetings, drafting and sharing meeting agendas, taking meeting notes
  • Stay up to date on the latest communication trends and tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
