Nurse / DIC admin

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with Uganda Nurses and Midwives
  • Certification in HIV Counseling and Testing Additional training in SHR or STI Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily DIC operations and safety protocol adherence.
  • Providing nursing care: wound management, medication administration and health assessments.
  • Coordinating SRHR/HIV services: testing, counseling, referrals.
  • Maintaining confidential client records and ensuring ethical compliance.
  • Training and supervising DIC staff to maintain service quality.
  • Monitoring inventory for medical supplies and equipment.
  • Facilitating health education on HIV prevention and reproductive health.
  • Collaborating with outreach teams for service access to Key populations.
  • Compiling monthly reports on service metrics and client outcomes.
  • Engaging with clients to improve service accessibility based on feedback.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years in a clinical or public health setting.
  • Experience with marginalized populations, especially KEY POPULATIONS, is preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in managing SHR and HIV related services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Community outreach and health education experience is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, data entry).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Empathy and sensitivity towards KPs and marginalized populations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Commitment to health and human rights advocacy.

Language Proficiency

• Fluent in English and at least one local language.
