Accountant at ASDA Construction | Nairobi, Kenya
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing team at ASDA Construction, a leading real estate development company based in Nairobi, Kenya. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with 2 years of experience working in the real estate sector, and who is familiar with Kenyan accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of project budgets and ensure that expenses align with financial forecasts.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to Kenyan accounting standards and tax regulations, keeping up to date with any changes in legislation.
- Project Accounting: Track costs and revenue for ongoing and completed real estate projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost allocation.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary financial documentation and explanations as required.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting experience in the real estate sector, with a strong understanding of Kenyan accounting practices and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of tax compliance, financial regulations, and real estate accounting procedures in Kenya.
