ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time Hybrid Job for a Quantitative Researcher at Vashi Impact Group. As a Quantitative Researcher, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data using statistical and mathematical methods. You will use your analytical skills to interpret findings and provide insights to inform decision-making. This role will be based in Uganda, with flexibility for some remote work

Function 1: Proposal Bids Writing
- Sample size calculations for different statistical survey designs.
- Calculations of the number of enumerators and days required.
- Sampling strategy write up.
Function 2: Survey Design.
- Refine the sampling strategies for new projects.
- Contributing to the inception reports specifically on the quantitative side of the work.
- Designing quantitative data collection tools based on objectives and indicators of a new project.
Function 3: Training
- Delivering enumerator training on the use of ODK/Kobo and how to effectively collect quantitative data.
Function 4: Data Collection Management
- Programming of data collection in different software’s ODK and KoboCollect.
- Designing data dashboards for tracking data collection. This is to check if we are meeting our target or not.
- Conducting data quality checks throughout data collection.
- Provide support by troubleshooting ODK/KoboCollect problems that might arise during field work.
Function 5: Data cleaning and analysis
- Developing analysis SPSS scripts/syntax for data cleaning.
- Further develop the syntax to conduct data analysis.
- Conduct different sets of analysis including:
- Descriptive analysis
- Inferential analysis
- Predictive analysis etc.
Function 6: Data Visualisation
- Conduct data visualization in Excel, plotting different graphs.
Function 7: Report writing.
- Contributing to the development of evaluation reports.
- Interpretation of the quantitative findings.
- Triangulate quantitative and qualitative findings and providing conclusions.
Function 8: Presentation
- Develop PowerPoint presentations for evaluation findings.
- Deliver presentation either online or physical.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in quantitative research, social development, international relations/development, sociology or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings.
- Strong Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Research, Evaluation and Analytical Skills.
- Significant Experience in conducting research in the international development or humanitarian sector is a must
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team setting.
- Proficiency in using statistical software (STATA, SPSS, KOBO Toolbox etc) and data analysis tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate research findings to stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
