The French Embassy in Kenya invites interested candidates to submit their applications for the position of Chef at the Residence of France in Nairobi.
Position: Chef
Starting date: January 13th, 2025
Under the authority of the Ambassador and of the Residence caretaker
Duties:
Management and general coordination of the kitchen activities, in close coordination with the Caretaker of the Residence, and the service staff of the Residence.;
Preparation of events organised at the Residence, in close consultation with the caretaker of the Residence, and in accordance with the requests of the Ambassador ;
Preparation and setting up of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, buffets, cocktails, and the assembly of the dishes ;
Purchase of foodstuffs for the Embassy’s reception functions, based on the requests established by the Head of Mission and in close consultation with the caretaker of the Residence ;
Proposals of particular dishes in order to promote French cuisine ;
Conducting and supervising the maintenance of the kitchen (work areas and equipment) with the support of the residence’s service staff.

Gross monthly wage : KES 92 476 (under review)
One year contract, with the prospect of permanent employment on an increased salary
