Communication assistant

Location: Homa Bay, Kenya
Type: Contract

Activate Action is a youth-led organization committed to empowering young people through initiatives in mental health, sexual reproductive health, HIV prevention, economic empowerment, and advocacy. We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communication Officer to join our team in Homa Bay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop engaging and impactful content for social media, website, and print materials.
  • Photography and Videography: Capture high-quality images and videos during field activities and events to showcase our work and impact.
  • Digital Media Management: Manage and grow our online presence by creating and sharing content on our social media platforms.
  • Storytelling: Document success stories and community impact to highlight the transformative work of Activate Action.
  • Design and Editing: Create and edit visual materials, including posters, flyers, and short films.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to ensure communication aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Age Requirement: 20 to 28 years old.
  • A diploma or degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in photography and videography, including proficiency with editing software.
  • Experience in content creation for social media and other platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Swahili is an added advantage).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media strategies.
  • Must be based in Homa Bay County.
  • Passionate about community development and youth empowerment.
